If you registered to CIKM 2020 (if not, you can still do!), you must have received a “Digital Delegate Bag” with all the necessary instructions to attend the conference. You can find here the key points of this document.
How to use the CIKM online platform
A. Log in

We are using Whova to provide a conference application, which works on most mobile platforms and as a web application. You will find there details of the programme, discussion channels to discuss with the organisers, the sponsors of the conference and other participants, a chat facility for every session and every paper, and many other things.
To download the Whova app Click Here and sign up for the CIKM conference.
If you have already used the Whova app in the past, check that it is installed on your device, and log in using your existing account email and password. If your email address is recognised, you should be able to access the CIKM 2020 conference. If not, search for it in the app and use the invitation code to gain access (email cikm2020reg@keynotepco.ie to receive it).
If you need more guidance on how to use Whova to attend the event, please visit the Whova User Guides. Click Here for guides.
B. Attend sessions

Zoom will be used for all sessions. The links to use for accessing zoom for each session are available in the conference programme. Those links correspond to virtual rooms named after Irish cities, as also detailed in the programme. They are:
Dublin https://zoom.us/j/94097700585
Cork https://zoom.us/j/91631172362
Limerick https://acm-org.zoom.us/j/96850183655

Wexford https://acm-org.zoom.us/j/97880078345
Letterkenny https://acm-org.zoom.us/j/93563198196
You will be asked for a PASSWORD to join the room. To avoid possible disruption of the conference, we will change this password on a daily basis, and communicate those passwords before the start of the day every day by email and through announcements in the app.
C. How you post a question/start a conversation?
During each session, you will be able to see presentations (either as pre-recorded videos or as live presentations) and participate in the Q&A. Unless you are presenting or chairing the session, you won’t be able to talk. You can submit your questions either by using the Q&A chat, for the session chair to ask the presenter, or by raising your hand (in zoom) for the session chair to enable you to speak.
D. Continuing the discussion…
All papers will be available on the ACM Digital Library (www.dl.acm.org) from the first day of the conference, together with the videos for sessions relying on pre-recorded videos.
The CIKM 2020 Whova app also includes a chat facility for each session and each paper where you can interact with authors and other participants regarding specific presentations. There are also several channels you can use in the “community” section, including channels dedicated to interactions with our sponsors.

In order to ensure that the conference can be attended by researchers from all over the world, the conference sessions are spread across two separate blocks each day. The programme on the app should automatically adapt to
your time zone, but the one on the website shows you the timing of sessions in the GMT+1 time zone.
